Google Earth

As cleverly suggested by our dear friend Mo (I know who'd have thought he would have anything clever to say), I've included a link from google earth, which shows our dear block of land out there in Lancefield!

If you look at the image and look about half way down the image, you will see a vacant block with a little red shed on the left hand side of the image . . . this my friends is our site . . . . maybe google earth will update it soon and include pictures of construction!!! hahah

We have concrete people!

Hello everyone,

Linc here, well a trip to the site today revealed a concrete slab, sweet! So we rip out the camera to take a few pics and lo and behold LOU for got to charge the battery, can you believe that! Ha ha ha..

This shot shows our garage and our meter box!!! We're going
to have electricity!!! WOO HOO!

So we had to take a couple pics on the mobile, didn't turn out to bad though.. So as you can see things are going along quite nicely, but as the nice man said the first few stages of the construction go fairly quickly then things start to slow down a little.. As the slack ass builders take some time off over the Christmas period (i know can you believe it!) the roof may be on or not, so we will wait and see..

This is where our outdoor room will be. There will be 2 sets of bi-folding doors leading from the kitchen and dining room out to the outdoor room.

And for the Irish out there, a rumpus room is a fancy word for a big room with nothing in it.. But Lou is letting me buy a big ass telly and mad sound sytem to go with so it is going to be the room where the movies and playstation are played extra loud in surround sound..

This shot is taken from the rear of the site and tries to capture a complete shot of the house, Again you can see the outdoor room area and you can see that our drains are all set up and ready for plumbing!!!

Now all i have to do is trick Lou into letting me buy it all, just a case of letting her think it was her idea to get all that cool stuff!..So help me sweet talk her!! heheh

So, until the next installment, keep checking back and leaving us your comments!!!

Linc.

SITE VISIT 24/11/2007

The builders have added to the site since our last visit and have set up the site for the slab. As you can see, they have placed the waffle pods, wooden frame and iron rod thingy's and pretty much have created the foundations of our home! The next step will be the builders actually pouring the concrete!! So hopefully the next time we visit we will have an actual concrete floor!

ABOVE: This first photograph is taken from the front left hand side of the block. The area of the house closest to the photo is/will be our 2 car garage!!!

ABOVE: This photograph is also taken from the front left hand side. The garage is at the bottom left side of the image and if you look towards the middle right hand side of the photo, you can kind of see the front door entrance. Where you can see the trench, is where our front porch/deck will be.

This shot is taken from the back left hand side of the house and gives a view of the entire house from the rear.

This photo is taken from the back right hand side of the house. If you look at the middle/left hand side of this shot, you will see an opening and trench. This is where our grand outdoor room will be. Hopefully, we will someday have the cash to get it all decked . . .

This photo is from the rear right hand side of the house.

Here I am standing (awkwardly) in part of our soon to be grand outdoor room. Fingers crossed that it won't always be a dirt floor!! : )

This shot is taken from right in front of the garage area and shows the area where we will soon find bedroom 2, laundry room, leisure room, bathroom & separate toilet and bedroom 3. If you've noticed the white pipes sticking up in the air, these are the provisions for the drains for all the things like, toilets, showers, sinks, kitchen/dishwasher etc.

This shot is again taken from the garage side of the house. If you look at the immediate foreground, you will notice a wooden frame. This marks out where the firebox will go for the gas fire which will go into the room next to it, the sitting room.

This shot again looks across the front of the house, showing the sitting room area, the front door/portico area and on the far side you can see the master bedroom!

This shot shows the trench that has been dug for our portico area at the front of the house. in the background you can see Lou's car. and the entrance to the site. We are more than likely going to change the entrance from there to somewhere more central (yet to be decided upon). If any of you are in any way talented with driveways/landscaping, please let us know!!

This is a side shot of bedroom 2.

You may think that there are a lot of similar shots, but we want to make sure that we capture all aspects of the creation of our first home, our dream home!

P.S. If anyone can build me a swimming pool, (at a mate's rate price), please let me know!!! : )

Love,

Lou & Linc

The Site . . . Pics taken 06/11/2007

This is a photograph of our block. Its not the clearest photo we have

of the block but for some reason I can't get the others online.

Linc has agreed to see what he can do with adding the other pics

tomorrow, so stay tuned!

Floor Plans

Hey again,

I have tried to upload a decent copy of our floor plans, but as you can see it has become pretty blurry . . .

So if you can't work it out, double click on the floor plan of the house and it should open up a full floor plan (minus the blurriness!!)

Happy looking!!! : )

The House that Linc & Lou are trying to build . . .
