Hey all!!
Yes it has been a while since we've posted anything on our blog, but with good reason . . . We've been SO busy trying to get things done along with living everyday life (work, study etc) . . . But fear not . . . I have devoted my Sunday afternoon to taking some more pictures and battling with this internet connection (its dial-up,so has taken forever) . . . So please, enjoy the pictures of our new home . . .
Above: This is a picture of the house with the deck which was just finished during the week!
Above: This picture shows the deck from the side of the house where the garage is . . . so you can see it spreads pretty much all along the front of the house . . .
Above: This shot was taken from the front of the block (left hand side) . . . you can see the garage as well as the deck/front of house . . .
Above: Again another shot of the front of the house. Linc's car is the grey one on the right and Lou's car is the black one in the background . . . Its hard to see but there is rope marking out where the driveway will be going . . . Lets hope those guys come and get started in the next week or so!!
Above: This shot shows the front sitting room (on the left as you come in the front door). As you can see we've had the carpet laid this week, so now we're debating whether or not to put Linc's old yucky green couch in there or stick it in the rumpus room . . . At this stage anything is better than nothing . . . : )
Above: This shot is taken in the master bedroom (on the right as you enter the front door/opposite the sitting room). Here you can see the new carpet again, the double entry doors, and the passage way through to the wardrobes/ensuite area. You can see Lincy's wardrobe towards the back of the picture. Lou's wardrobe is just opposite. ERM Linc, why is your bike gear just sitting on the floor and not in your wardrobe?!?!?
Above: This is another shot of the master bedroom - this shot was taken from the doorway and shows the front and overhead windows . . . More new carpet . . . who'd have thought that having carpet would make people so excited?!?!? :D
Above: This is a shot of the his/her sinks and shower in the ensuite off the master bedroom.
Above: Here is where Linc and Lou are currently sleeping . . . Japanese style . . . we've turned our bed into a futon and believe it our not but our new futon is actually in Lou's wardrobe . . . hehe . . . yes folks, I know some of you didn't believe me when I told you we were sleeping in my wardrobe, but we are . . . But don't worry, its not a long term thing . . . we got tired of having black sacks over our windows while waiting for window furnishings so we've moved in there . . . Window furnishings should be here in the next fortnight or so . . .
Above: This shot is taken standing just inside the front door . . . on the left you can see the opening to the sitting room, on the right is the opening to the master bedroom and then follow the hallway (with the fantastic solid timber floors, which have just been recently sanded and polished - thanks to Lisa & Wes for having us to stay while this was happening). . . which leads into the kitchen/family/meals area . . .
Above: This shot is taken from the entry hallway (on the left, just passed the sitting room entry) . . . here is the passageway which leads to the garage . . . on the left handside is the broom closet, on the right hand side are the openings to the walk through pantry and the walk in linen closet and the door at the back of the picture leads to the garage . . .
Above: This is a shot of the walk through pantry taken from the passageway to the garage . . . on the left hand side is the base of our bed, which will be moved to a bedroom tonight (I was in too much of a rush to take the pictures and didn't have time to move it beforehand) . . .
Above: This shot is of the walk in linen closet . . . looking a bit bare at the moment, but fear not there are more items in storage and in the laundry awaiting folding . . .
Above: This is a shot of the kitchen area (benchtop in the foreground looking slightly messy, but we've been busy and I haven't been given approval to hire Rosario just yet) . . . you can see the stove in the background, the black rubbish bag (we need to find a nice bin for the kitchen) and Lincy in the background slipping out of the shot . . .
Above: This shot is of the dining/melas area, which is just opposite the kitchen shot you saw previously . . . here you can see our 8 seater dining table (which was squashed into our little unit at Cartwright Street) and in the background you can see the window and one of the sliding doors leading out to the outdoor room . . .
Above: This shot is of the family area, which is just off the kitchen/dining area . . . here you can see our two couches (which again were squashed into Cartwright Street) and our new coffee table that we bought for a bargain recently . . . it has a matching lamp table which is hard to see in the background of the picture (between the two couches) . . .
Above: This shot is again of the family room, but taken from a different angle (the kitchen and dining area are behind and the other sliding door is to the right) . . . In the back of the shot you can see the new tv unit we bought, which matches our coffee table and dining table . . . You can also admire our nice timber floors . . . :)
Above: This shot is taken from behind the kitchen island bench . . . you can see that the dishwasher has been installed (Good work Team Bow-Sullivan) . . . all we're missing for this is a nice stainless steel frame/stand for the microwave so it sits in its little space better . . .
Above: This is a shot taken from the family area and looking back up the hallway we've just travelled down towards the front door . . . On the right of the shot, you will notice Lincoln doing what men do best . . . housework!! GO LINCY!! You are so talented at housework!! :)
Above: This is a shot of the rumpus room, which is just off the family room . . . again we've got carpet . . . you can see Lincy's vacuum (he loves his Dyson, so much so he persuaded his Mum to buy one) . . . and in the background is our old tv unit and tv . . . which look very out of place in such a big room, but again all things we have are better than no things and we'll eventually get around to replacing them in time . . .
Above: This shot is of bedroom 2 . . . you can see the entry on the left of the shot and you can also see the entry to the walk in wardrobe . . .
Above: This shot is of bedroom 3 . . . you can see we've already moved in one of the single beds and all its waiting for is a visitor to come and stay . . . (maybe it will be more appealing when there's something covering the windows?!?!) :D
Above: This shot is of bedroom 4, again a single bed waiting for a visitor . . .
Above: This is a shot of the hallway facing towards where bedrooms 3 and 4 are situated . . . you will also find a toilet and bathroom down this end of the hallway . . . On the right hand side you can see the arty-farty opening to the family room (you can sort of see the back of one of the couches) . . .
Above: This shot is taken from the same spot as the picture above, only facing into the leisure room .. . not much in there other than the telephone and Linc's mobile . . . this is where I am now sitting doing this . . .but I've brought in the beanbag for some comfort . . . So there you go . . . the most recent/up-to-date pictures that we have of where we live . . . as you can see, we have done a lot and have a lot more to do . . . so we will keep you posted as things start to progress more . . .
Don't forget to leave your comments here or send us a message to let us know what you think . . .
Lots of Love,
Lou & Linc
